New beginnings

So a couple of weeks ago I was at my mum’s house looking after her dog while she was at work (long story) when she arrived back home with a bottle of prosecco. Now I come from a family who like a drink, but she doesn’t usually booze it midweek when she has work the next day. “Why did you get that?” I asked.

“I just wanted to make a toast to new beginnings,” she said.

This got me thinking about everything that has happened over the past year. She was right, there were new beginnings happening for all of us. My stepdad, who has worked away for the past 10 years would be transferring home in the next few months. My parents have sold their house after trying to downsize for months and were due to move soon. I had broken up with my son’s dad, moved into my own flat and finished an access course which means I can start applying for universities later on this year. My son would be starting nursery in September and I was about to embark on a new training and weightlifting programme. In all honesty, I’ve never felt more positive and content in my whole life.

Blogging isn’t something I’ve ever really considered, but more than a few people have suggested it and it’s started to make more and more sense. I have so much going on in my life and so many different interests that documenting it all sounded like a lot of fun. And if any of it helps people who are in a similar situation to me then that’s even better!

So welcome to Alice’s wonderland, and thanks for reading my first blog post. I’ll be blogging about a range of different subjects from my fitness and university journeys, the trials and tribulations of being a single female raising a son, and anything else I fancy talking about. Be prepared for randomness, ranting and the occasional f-word (although I’ll try and keep that to a minimum!) Big love to you all 😊 x
